Please follow the steps below to participate in the Kids Write Now! program. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Visit the National Novel Writing Month's Youth Program website, https://ywp.nanowrimo.org/, and click the orange "sign up" box.

Select your role as a young writer and then begin creating an account by entering your birthdate.

Step 3:

Join the Kids Write Now! program by joining our NaNoWriMo classroom. Our classroom code is ATWSCQIJ.

Create a NaNoWriMo account. The information you provide in this section will determine how our program moderators recognize you as a participant, so make sure that you fill it out correctly! Your username should be Your First Name_Your Last Name (so, for example, Amy Johnson would be Amy_Johnson).

Enter your passcode information to fully activate your account. Make sure to save your password -- it's how you'll access your NaNoWriMo account!

Congratulations!!! You're officially a participant in the Kids Write Now! program. Under the "Classrooms" tab, you should see the Kids Write Now! program classroom. Enter into the classroom to check out program guidelines and specifics. Make sure to look at the "Announcements" tab -- this is where most important program information, like deadlines, events, and prize lists, is posted.

Step 7:

Remember -- just by signing up for Kids Write Now!, you receive a candy prize! Visit the Richmond/Senator Milton Marks branch of the Library on a weekend to claim your prize. For more information about prizes, look under the "Announcements" page or visit here.
